Skill development of tea tribes in Assam

: The Assam Government would pass an Act for skill development of the tea tribe community to increase their productivity, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said.

Gogoi was speaking on the sidelines of a function on Friday at Titabor for distributing cheques of Rs 10,000 each to 37 students belonging to the tea tribe community for securing first division in High School Board and Higher Secondary Council examinations this year. The programme was organised by the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha, Titabor to felicitate meritorious students.

Lauding the achievements of the students, the Chief Minister advised them to focus on education which has potential to change the lot of the tea tribe community. – PTI
