Three men in a marriage party were electrocuted at Bajaria under Ater police circle in Bhind district on Friday night at 8.15 p.m.

Seven others were injured when a steel box on top of their bus grazed a high tension power line over the road from Ater to Porsa. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Chambal) Dilip Arya told The Hindu , from the spot, that the injured have been rushed to Bhind District Government Hospital, a town 500 km north of Bhopal, on the Uttar Pradesh border.

The ill fated marriage party was of a groom named Uday Singh Gujjar, residents of village Tikarikhurd in Mehgaon tehsil. They were travelling to the bride's home in Harishankarpura. The party was just half-a-kilometre away from the marriage mandap, when the electrifying death cut their journey short.
