On reaching the spot, police also found bodies of a man and a woman in an under constructed house at about 4 km away from the place where the children were found dead.

According to the SSP Onkar Singh five of the six bodies have been identified. The woman has been identified as Rukhsana who was a resident of Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar. She was the mother of the four children who were murdered. The children have been identified as Rinsha, 16, Julie,8, Goonjie, 6 and Suhail 12.

He said there was no communal angle to the murders.

"Rukhsana's husband Naved was in Muzaffarnagar jail since last one and half years. There was a property dispute between him and his brothers. He was In jail because of his brother's complaint about attempt to murder against him," Mr. Singh told the media on Tuesday.

"We are yet to identify the body of the man. Though our investigations are on, one cannot rule out property dispute being the reason for the murders," he added.
