Khusbhoo who hit the campaign trail seeking votes for DMK candidates has suddenly cancelled her tour of Vellore constituency and returned to Chennai. ‘Ill health’ is the reason given by her, but there is something more to it than what meets the eye.
After initial expectations that Khushboo might get the South Chennai seat were belied, the DMK patriarch mollified her and asked her to campaign for the party. Khushboo sulked for a while but later joined the campaign and started attacking the ruling AIADMK enthused by the good response to her.
At one meeting she remarked that AIADMK had overtaken DMK ‘in the art of cheating people.’ This left the DMK functionaries accompanying her red-faced and she had to take a bit of their booing. As the party high command was irked by her speech, Khushboo decided to wind up her Vellore campaign.
