Narendra Modi, allies greet Vijayakanth

The DMDK chief is celebrating his 62nd birthday today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of the constituent parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Monday greeted DMDK chief Vijayakanth on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.

“I thank Prime Minister Modi, Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan, MDMK chief Vaiko, Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi general secretary E R Easwaran and leaders of several other political parties and friends who greeted me on my birthday,” Mr. Vijayakanth said in a statement in Chennai.

The Vijayakanth-led DMDK is celebrating its founder president’s birthday as “Poverty Eradication Day,” by giving away welfare assistance to the indigent.
