Special trains to Mangalore, and Chengalpet

The Southern Railway has announced special trains to clear extra rush during Sabarimala season, Christmas festival and Thaipoosam.

Special trains will be operated between Nagercoil Junction and Mangalore Junction on December 20, 27, and January 3, 2016. Train No. 06142 Nagercoil Junction – Mangalore Junction will leave Nagercoil at 14.00 hrs and reach Mangalore at 05.15 hrs. on the next day. Similarly in the return direction, the special trains will be operated on December 21, 28 and January 4, 2016. Train No. 06143 Mangalore Junction – Nagercoil Junction will leave Mangalore at 12.50 hrs and reach Nagercoil at 02.50 hrs the next day. Compositions of these trains are: AC 2-tier 1, AC 3-tier 2, sleeper class 12, general second class 3 and luggage-cum-brake van 2 coaches.

These trains will have stops at Eraniel, Kuzhithurai, Neyyatinkara, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kayankulam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Shoranur Jn., Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod.

Advance reservations for the above trains commenced on November 27.

Nagercoil- Chengalpet

(Main line) specials

Special trains to clear the extra rush for Thai Poosam festival has also been announced. The special trains will be operated from Nagercoil on December 6 and December 13 and in the return direction the trains will be operated on December 7 and December 14. Train No. 06136 Nagercoil - Chengalpet weekly special train (via Main line) will leave Nagercoil at 17.00 hrs and reach Chengalpat at 06.15 hrs, the next day. Train No. 06137 Chengalpat - Nagercoil weekly special train (via Main line) will leave Chengalpat at 12.45 hrs and reach Nagercoil at 04.15 hrs, the next day.

Composition: Sleeper Class 12 coaches, general second class 3 and luggage-cum-brake van 2 coaches. The trains will have stoppages in Valliyur, Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Tiruppadiripuliyur, Villupuram and Melmaruvathur.

Advance reservations for the above trains commenced on November 28.
