Godowns to stock paddy and other food grains should be constructed through the Central Cooperative banks so that the construction work completes on time and are more useful to farmers, said Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion of his felicitation at the NDCC Bank here on Friday, he said the NDCC in the district had been stronger and effective in rendering services to the farming community. Over the last two decades, the bank had made enormous progress due to the concerted efforts of various leaders, officials and farmers.

The Minister added that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao took a bold decision on farm loan waiver to the tune of Rs.19,000 crore benefitting over 39 lakh farmers.

NDCC Bank chairman Gangadhar Rao Patwari and vice-chairman Muzeebuddin honoured the Minister along with other legislators, Mayor Akula Sujatha and ZP chairman D. Raju.
