DCA serves notices on 24 pharma companies in Hyderabad

The Drug Control Administration (DCA) has served show-cause notices on 24 pharmaceutical companies in Hyderabad for a host of violations after conducting inspections between July 27 and 30.

According to DCA Director Akun Sabharwal, 22 pharma companies were served notices asking for explanation from the manufacturers while cases were registered and manufacturing units seized from two pharma units.

“The DCA had been receiving specific information that certain manufacturers were flouting norms and their processes and products were not up to the mark. Thus, surprise Inspections were carried out at a few Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Units. The aim of these inspections was to ascertain and ensure that good manufacturing practices are being followed by these manufacturers,” Mr. Sabharwal said.

The notices were served on pharmaceutical companies include Biochemical and Synthetic Products ltd , Sanathnagar, Medreich ltd , Bollaram, Vindhya Pharma, Jeedimetla, Srikara Organics, Bollaram, Sainor Pharma, Jeedimetla, Cyma Life Sciences, Pashamylaram, Lixira Curatives, Shaktipuram, Kukatpally, Yag-Mag, Jinnaram, Hiranya Cellulose, Kukatpally, Pratishta Industries, Choutuppal, Zeno Tech Laboratories, Turkapally, and Sripathi Labs Pvt. Ltd. Gundrampally, Nalgonda.

Others to be served notices are Coral Health Care, Cherlapally, Y.M. Drugs and Chemicals, Choutuppal, Golden Streak Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Cherlapally, Vista Pharmaceuticals, Narkatpally, Disto Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd, Cherlapally, Ravus Laboratories, Chivemlla, Suryapet. Gothic Pharmaceuticals Pvt, Cherlapally, Pegasus Farmaco, Bhongir, B&T Pharmaceuticals, Cherlapally, Eytan Labs Ltd, Jinnaram. Persian Laboratories, Nifty Pharma Pvt in Ltd, Cherlapally.
