In a tragic incident, six school children were feared drowned in the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) Reservoir at Padmanagar locality on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Monday.

The Police said that the children all aged between 8 years and 13 years went out from their houses in Ramnagar locality to play cricket on the shores of the reservoir. Later, they decided to swim in the waters to refresh themselves from the heat wave conditions and met with watery grave.

Police initially found the cricket kit and their clothes and launched a search for the missing boys. They managed to retrieve the bodies of the victims. The children were identified as Satish, Pradhyumna, Samith, Suvit, Minnu and Shivasai.

Karimnagar Legislator Gangula Kamalakar and others rushed to the accident spot and consoled the bereaved family members.
