Two farmers electrocuted in Nalgonda

An unauthorised electric fence set up by a farmer to prevent wild boars damaging the standing crop proved fatal for two brothers, who were escorting their sister to her village, at Yelamalamanda village in Chandampet mandal here on Saturday morning.

The victims were identified as Kethavath Nehru (23) and Kethavath Ravi (18) who along with their sister were proceeding to Ganapuram village on foot to drop her at her home, after celebrating Deepawali in their village. The youths stumbled upon the electric fencing and died instantly.

In another instance, a cotton farmer Ramakrishna Reddy (53) committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Ouravani village of Narketpally mandal in district on Saturday morning as his cotton field withered away due to the prolonged dry spell.
