Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy met Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa here and discussed issues of mutual interest.

The meeting took place on Thursday at Mr. Rajapaksa’s official residence, the Temple Trees in Colombo.

Dr. Swamy’s meeting with Mr. Rajapaksa comes amidst the ongoing > protests by certain pro-LTTE elements in India, particularly Tamil Nadu, against the Sri Lankan government.

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Karunatilaka Amunugama were also present on the occasion.
