Much ado about a murder

November 27, 2015 03:11 am | Updated 03:11 am IST

I wonder why the print and television media are providing such great coverage to the Sheena Bora case (“Indrani made ‘sister’ Sheena joint legal guardian of Vidhie,” Nov.26). The print articles, if consolidated, could run into thousands of pages, beating the crime thrillers so far published. The television media coverage could consolidate into the equivalent of a few mega serials. This case pertains to only one Indrani and one Sheena. There are hundreds of murder cases of greater gravity. It is high time the media stopped chasing stories only with a ‘star value’. It has a bigger role to play.
