12:24 pm: With captain A.B. de Villers closing in on a century, South Africa stood at 312/4 with five overs to notch up a massive total at the Sydney Cricket Ground against West Indies.

10:50 am: At the halfway mark of the first innings, Francois du Plessis and Hashim Amla had steadied the ship for South Africa after it lost Quinton de Kock early to Jason Holder.
9:05 am: Earlier, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat against the West Indies in their Pool B clash at Sydney Cricket Ground. The Proteas drafted in Riley Rossouw, Farhan Behardien and Kyle Abbott in place of J.P. Duminy, Wayne Parnell and Vernon Philander. The W'Indies, for their part, brought Suleiman Benn in for Nikita Miller.
West Indies looks a formidable side with Gayle and Samuels hitting back into form just at the right time. Gayle scored the first double hundred in the World cup history and would be looking to make full use of his newfound form.
While on the other hand, after getting beaten by India in a convincing fashion, ABD's men would looking to bounce back with a bang. They certainly have the artillery to do so. If South Africa play to their potential, they are a difficult side to beat — which the West Indies found out in the recently conducted 5 match ODI series.
This promises to be one the most cracking contest of the tournament, battle to watch out for in this game, West Indies strong batting line up taking on Steyn and co. and Amla and ABD versus Jerome Taylor, who has looked in fine rhythm in the last couple of games.
