Atletico de Kolkata, which is reeling under suspensions and injuries, received more bad news with Czech Republic midfielder Jakub Podany joining the growing list of injured players.
The player sustained a hamstring injury during practice and is expected to be fit in five to seven days time, according to information provided by the team’s official hospital — Peerless Hospital.
With Ethiopian striker Fikru Lemessa suspended for two matches and defender Denzil Franco out with injury, Podany was joined by Bangladesh player Mamunul Islam Mamun, who is yet to recover from an injury on left thigh.
Antonio Habas's suspension reducedThere was some good news for the city outfit as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee reduced Spanish coach Antonio Habas’s suspension.
He can now return for the team’s home match against Pune City FC on November 7.
The team’s marquee player — Luis Garcia — is making good progress after pulling up a hamstring and is expected to be fielded away to Chennaiyin FC on Tuesday after missing three matches.
