Indian hockey team to tour Bangladesh

Defender Vickram Kanth will lead the Indian hockey team for a three-match series against Bangladesh as part of preparations for the Asian Games. India will play Bangladesh on August 6, 8 and 9 in Dhaka and the tour will also be part of the selection process for the Asian Games.

All the players in the team have been training in the capital during the Commonwealth Games. Hockey India brought in Hockey Patiala as an Associate Member, with Rajinder Singh Mann as president and Sukhwinder Kaur as general secretary of the association. HI now has 25 permanent members, 22 associate members, 2 members through State Olympic Associations, six academy members and one Hoc-Key (in-charge of academies) member.

The team : Goalkeepers: Harjot Singh, Sushant Tirkey;

Defenders : Gurmail Singh, Harbir Singh Sandhu, Gurjinder Singh, Vickram Kanth, Vikas Pillay, Gurinder Singh;

Midfielders : S.K. Uthappa, Jasjit Singh Kular, Devinder Walmiki, Satbir Singh, Harjeet Singh;

Forwards: Affan Yousuf, Yuvraj Walmiki, Nithin Thimmaiah, Talwinder Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay.
