India's Dipika tries to dribble past a Netherlands player in the Hockey World League Semifinals on Tuesday.

Indian women crashed out of the quarterfinals in the Hockey World League Semifinals after they were drubbed 7-0 by world champion the Netherlands at the KHC Dragons Stadium here on Tuesday.

Swept away by the early onslaught in the quarterfinal contest, the Indian women’s hockey team’s defence wilted under the pace set by the Dutch girls, for whom Caia van Maasakker converted three penalty corners and Lidewij Walten scored twice.

India, ranked No. 13 in the world, was no challenge for World Cup and Olympic title holder the Netherlands, whose goal was threatened only twice through two penalty corners that India forced in the second half.

India will face Italy in the fifth to eight classification spots.

The result:

Women: Quarterfinal:

The Netherlands 7 (Naomi van As, Lidewij Walten 2, Caia van Maasakker 3, Ginella Zarbo) bt India 0.
