West Bengal in semis

National champion and India No. 1 Mouma Das suffered a shocking defeat against Frenaz Chipia, ranked No. 42, but West Bengal still defeated Gujarat 3-2 and marched to the National Games women’s table tennis team championship semifinals at the Regional Sports Centre here on Sunday.

West Bengal, which blanked Tamil Nadu 3-0 later in the day, has two wins in the four-team Group A. Also joining the last-four stage was Maharashtra with two wins in the other group. Meanwhile, host Kerala lost both its matches, against Andhra Pradesh and Delhi, in the women’s section.
