Making dents in the strong defence of Dabang Delhi through fine raids by Maninder Singh and Jasvir Singh, host Pink Panthers posted a 41-31 victory to assure itself of a berth in the semifinals of the ProKabaddi League here on Friday.
It was Dabang Delhi which was leading 18-16 at the breather but in the second half Jasvir (7 points) and Maninder (11 points) tore apart the Dabang defence and earned three ‘lonas’ to help Panthers notch up a 41-31 victory and assure their team of a last-four berth with 48 points from 12 matches.
Dabang are currently placed sixth with 26 points from as many matches and virtually out of contention.
Titans stay alive Aided by a last-minute error by Bengal Warriors’ Sachin Shingade, Telugu Titans kept its hopes alive with a 34-34 draw.
Titans were trailing 33-34 in the last few seconds and the last raid by Deepak was almost completed but a tactical error by Shingode cost Warriors dearly. He tried to tackle Deepak when he was almost done with his raid and gave Titans a final crucial point which helped them draw the match.
