Benoit Paire won his first career ATP Tour title at the Bastad Open on Sunday, defeating Tommy Robredo 7-6(7), 6-3 in the final.
He defeated four higher-ranked players — top seed David Goffin of Belgium, Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan and defending champion Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay — before seeing off Robredo.
Samantha Stosur came from a set down to win the Bad Gastein WTA Open on Sunday with a 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-2 triumph over Italian Karin Knapp.
The 31-year-old Australian triumphed over Knapp who was playing her second match of the day after defeating compatriot and top seed Sara Errani 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-5 in the semifinals. That match had been held over since Saturday because of rain.
Also on Sunday, Lesya Tsurenko won the Istanbul Cup with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Urszula Radwanska.
Raja & Martin fall Third seeds Mate Pavic and Michael Venus ended a fine run by Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin at the Colombian Open in Bogota, beating them 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 in the semifinals on Saturday.
The Indo-French pair had started their campaign with a 1-6, 6-3, 10-5 victory over top seeds Rajeev Ram and Treat Huey, and had beaten Mathew Ebden and Adrian Mannarino in the quarterfinals.
