Challenger tennis: Ramkumar advances

Ramkumar Ramanathan got past qualifier Yan Bai of China and set up a pre-quarterfinal clash against compatriot Saketh Myneni in the Challenger tennis tournament in Hong Kong on Wednesday. Ramkumar was ahead 3-6, 6-4, 4-1 against the Chinese qualifier when the latter retired.

Other Indian in action in singles, wild card Sanam Singh lost 6-3, 6-4 to qualifier Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia.

In doubles, Saketh and Sanam beat Fabrice Martin of France and Purav Raja 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Somdev Devvarman lost the doubles first round in partnership with Di Wu of China, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 to Radu Albot of Moldova and Jordan Thompson of Australia.
