ITF grade-5 junior tennis: Madhumita beats Isha

Madhumita Meenakshi beat the third-seeded Isha Budwal 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in a girls’ first round match of the ITF grade-5 junior tennis tournament here on Monday.

The seventh-seeded Angella Raman fought her way past Yun Chen Hsieh of Chinese Taipei 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(5).

In the boys’ section, Adil Kalyanpur beat the fourth-seeded Anurag Nenwani 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. In another lively encounter, Siddhant Banthia recovered from the brink of elimination to beat Mayukh Rawat 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4.
