Myneni-Kutrovsky duo knocks out top seeds

Saketh Myneni and Dimitar Kutrovsky of Bulgaria knocked out the top seeds Alex Bolt and Andrew Whittington of Australia 7-5, 5-7, 10-7 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Lexington, Kentucky.

Ramkumar Ramanathan and John Millman of Australia also made the doubles quarterfinals as the duo blanked wild cards Sam Barnett and Jesse Witten of the US. In the $125,000 WTA event in Nanchang, China, Ankita Raina was beaten by Liu Chang of China 6-2, 7-6(9).

Rishika Sunkara was on the verge of victory at 6-2, 5-4 (30-15) against Kwan Yau Ng of Hong Kong, but dropped serve, and was forced to retire due to cramps.

$15,000 ITF men, Xativa, Spain: Doubles (pre-quarterfinals): Neeraj Elangovan & Niki Poonacha bt Pablo Bataller Amador & Pol Vaquero Fernandez (Esp) 6-3, 6-0.

$10,000 ITF men, Essen, Germany: Qualifying event (second round): Andrey Pechkin (Rus) bt Alex Solanki 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

$125,000 WTA, Nanchang, China: Singles (first round): Liu Chang (Chn) bt Ankita Raina 6-2, 7-6(9).

$15,000 ITF women, Hong Kong: Singles (first round): Kwan Yau Ng (Hkg) bt Rishika Sunkara 2-6, 5-5 (retired); Shilin Xu (Chn) bt Prerna Bhambri 6-4, 6-7(1), 6-0.

Natasha Palha bt Ola Abou Zekry (Egy) 6-3, 6-1.
